Mechanical engineering is a professional core engineering discipline, involving the design, production and maintenance of any product in any industry. The pride of every student and faculty member will come from his department and college. Our department has a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty, good infrastructure and laboratory facilities. It creates a favorable atmosphere and allows students to make the most of existing advanced equipment and first-class infrastructure.
We always work under the slogan "Nothing can be achieved without real effort". The core values of the department help students develop their personality and to make them worthy for global competition and action. Our faculties constantly attend various training programs, and publish papers, books and filing patents. Many are pursuing research. Our department held seminars / conferences to keep teachers and students abreast with the latest developments in the field of technical education. We are excited to share that many students pursue postgraduate studies at leading universities in India and abroad. I am sure that our students will prove that they are invaluable assets of an organization."

About Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2008 with an intake of 60 students in the year 2008-2009 for the Bachelor of Engineering course. During 2009-2010 intake was enhanced to 120 students. The department also started Master of Technology in Thermal Power Engineering program in year 2013-2014, with an intake of 24 students. The department has excellent facilities for education. With dedicated, highly qualified and experienced faculty, it is creating an environment conducive for learning.
Keeping itself up to date with the latest development trends in the field, the laboratories and workshops are well equipped with modern instruments and machineries. The department has spacious and well-furnished classrooms, workshop, machine shop, and computer laboratories. The CAD Lab is equipped with 70 branded PCs with latest configurations. The CAMD Lab is equipped with 40 branded PCs with latest configuration. All the systems are connected through LAN and provided with latest softwares like ANSYS, Solid Edge, EdgeCAM, CADEM etc.
The department regularly organizes various technical events for students, which include workshops, technical talks, industrial visits and seminars. This will broaden the perspective of the students exposing them to latest technological trends. Several passed out students of the department are placed in reputed companies like Quest, MTAB-DENFORD, HCL, HAL Bangalore, L&T, Infosys, Mahindra & Mahindra, etc.

DEPARTMENT PROFILE

Department of Mechanical Engineering headed by Dr. Dhananjaya D. A. Along with well qualified and experienced, as well as young team with commitment to educate the students. The department also provides PG course in Thermal Power Engineering. Department is well equipped with modern machines and sophisticated equipments for its Workshops, Laboratories and equipped with in house departmental library to cater to the needs of the students. The department also provides a launching platform in the form of "MECHANOID CLUB" to show case the talent of the students and cater the extracurricular activities like conducting Seminars, Technical symposium, Workshops etc. In added to its pride the department has been recognized "Research Center from VTU".

Club has organised workshops on Engine overhauling, Industrial and Process automation, Non-destructive testing methods, Processing advanced materials, Big data analystics and business analystics, Product design using Fusion 360 by Autodesk.

ICT Academy is a not-for-profit society, the first of its kind pioneer venture under the Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model that endeavours to train the higher education teachers and students thereby exercises on developing the next generation teachers and industry ready students.
